There were four home wins and two victories for visiting teams in Saturday’s matchday 12 of the 3. Liga.

While Arminia Bielefeld won 1-0 at MSV Duisburg and SSV Jahn Regensburg (2-1) got an away treble at Halleschen FC, four home wins followed in the four remaining Saturday 3. Liga matches.

Things are getting really tight for HFC. Eight points from twelve games currently puts them in second-to-last place in the table. Sreto Ristic, coach of Hallens, told “MagentaSport”: “Regensburg is a team that is now riding on a cloud of success and that is a huge difference to us. We have to invest an incredible amount in order to produce results to some extent. I can’t blame the team at all. We threw ourselves into every ball, we defended very well. We didn’t play forward as we are used to. But that’s currently due to the fact that we wanted to stop this flood of goals. For the most part, we tried, but the team just wasn’t rewarded at the end.”

Despite the ongoing crisis, Ristic, who only extended his contract to June 30, 2025 at the end of July 2023, is “not worried” about his job, as he emphasized: “My job is to do my job here. That’s what I do everything for. And I don’t need to answer anything else.”

Things went better for FC Ingolstadt in the home game against Unterhaching. The Ingolstadt team stopped their winless streak of 3 games and defeated the promoted team 3-0.

Victoria Köln also played against a promoted team. The Rhinelanders lost 3-2 at VfB Lübeck, and Viktoria coach Olaf Janßen was angry: “We made far too many mistakes overall. At halftime, there was a bit of a ruckus. That was then class how we played soccer. And then we invited the opponent back.”

Victories were also celebrated by 1860 Munich (2-0) against SC Freiburg II and Dynamo Dresden. The league leader defeated Preußen Münster in front of almost 30,000 fans. It was the tenth home win in a row – that had not been seen since the fall of communism in 1989, meaning: a new record for Dresden! “The atmosphere was insane. The fans played their part in the victory. You can’t take that for granted. We soak it all up,” said Dynamo coach Markus Anfang.

As an aside, SGD won 15 home games in a row between 1976 and December 1977. Perhaps this all-time home record for Dresden will fall in the coming weeks and months. This Dynamo team is certainly capable of doing that.
