Soccer fans in Castrop-Rauxel and also supporters of Borussia Dortmund should make a note of this date in their calendars.
On December 8 (7:30 p.m.), the clubs of BVB legends Kevin Großkreutz and Lukasz Piszczek will meet. Westfalenliga club SV Wacker Obercastrop welcomes Polish fourth-division team LKS Goczalkowice. Here, the 38-year-old Piszczek has been player-coach since July 2021 and is now also a soccer coach – Forecasting reported.
Großkreutz and Piszczek once celebrated great successes at Borussia Dortmund. Together they won the DFB Cup and became German champions. They also appeared in the Champions League final with BVB in the 2012/2013 season. Borussia, then under coach Jürgen Klopp, made a great game in London, but in the end FC Bayern Munich won the European soccer royal league in the German-German final.
Piszczek, who moved to Dortmund from Hertha BSC in the summer of 2010, left Borussia eleven years later for his native Poland. Now he returns to Castrop-Rauxel as coach for a test match.
