Borussia Dortmund fans will be delighted to hear that a BVB Bundesliga match will be broadcast on free-to-air TV shortly before Christmas.

Soccer fans can watch two Bundesliga matches on free-to-air TV at the end of the year. In addition to the match between Bayern Munich and TSG Hoffenheim, Sat.1 will broadcast another match two days later.

The private channel Sat.1 will broadcast Borussia Dortmund’s Bundesliga match against Mainz 05 live on free-to-air TV. The match of the 16th matchday will take place in the English week shortly before Christmas on December 19 (8:30 p.m.). The broadcaster confirmed a corresponding report by the “Sportbuzzer” portal on Tuesday.

The Sat.1 broadcast is made possible by a sub-license with Sky. The agreement includes a further match in the second half of the season. It is not yet clear which match this will be. The pay-TV channel Sky holds the rights to the Bundesliga matches during the week and on Saturday.

Sat.1 will also be showing the match between defending champions Bayern Munich and VfB Stuttgart on December 17 (Sunday, 7:30 p.m.) in parallel on the paid streaming service DAZN. This constellation also applies to the German champions’ first match of the new year on January 12 (Friday, 8.30 p.m.) against TSG Hoffenheim.

The free TV channel Sat.1 had already presented the match between Werder Bremen and Bayern Munich at the start of the season. These three matches are included in the TV contract with the German Football League
