213-time second division player arrives

Ahead of the away match in Bayreuth, Rot-Weiss Essen have signed a very experienced man for the central midfield.

Rot-Weiss Essen had announced. Players are to be released, new players are to come and the money is there, all additions are to be financed from current operations.

The first addition has now arrived. And it is for the central midfield – here RWE will introduce Clemens Fandrich on Friday before the away game in Bayreuth (Saturday, 2 p.m.). Pure routine for the Essen team, who need exactly that at the moment.

Players who bring experience with them. And Fandrich alone has 213 games in the second division, most of them (184) for Erzgebirge Aue. After relegation with Aue, he was out of contract and now RWE has struck.

“Clemens Fandrich was an undisputed regular at an established second-division club in recent years. He brings a lot of experience with him and will give our game more stability. Since he has participated in the team training of Chemnitzer FC in the past weeks, he comes to us in a very good physical condition and can thus help us directly. We are very pleased that he has decided to join us,” explained sporting director Jörn Nowak.

Fandrich, who also played for RB Leipzig, said after his move to Essen: “Rot-Weiss Essen is finally back where the club belongs – in professional football. Now we have to work hard to achieve positive results as quickly as possible. I’m eager to bring my experience to the table and can’t wait to play in front of the emotional crowd at Hafenstraße. “
