Part 1 – The big RevierSport half-year report card

The players of MSV Duisburg also receive their grades in the big forecast report during the winter break of the 3rd division.

MSV Duisburg spent the winter in penultimate place in the 3rd division. Despite being four points off the safety zone, hope has returned to the Wedau after recent performances and the 4-2 home win against SC Freiburg II at the end of the season.

In the middle of the winter break, the MSV players will receive a forecasting report. Only the 25 players who have played at least five times in the 3rd division will be taken into account for their assessment.

Vincent Müller

Despite fitness deficits in the summer and competition from Dennis Smarsch (long-term injury), the clear number one and, with a few exceptions (blunder against Dresden), a reliable back-up. The 23-year-old didn’t miss a single game and kept four clean sheets

Sebastian Mai

The captain has already been tested as a striker under Torsten Ziegner. Under Boris Schommers, the 30-year-old is the only striker and has recently scored five times in a row. Due to his robust style of play, Mai is always good for a suspension, but is also the Zebras’ top scorer with four goals.

Forecasting grade: satisfactory plus (3+)

Marvin Senger

The error-prone 23-year-old lost his regular place in central defense to Marvin Knoll despite his goal on the first matchday in Freiburg at the end of September. Since then, he has only played ten minutes.

Forecasting grade: sufficient minus (4-).

Tobias Fleckstein

Fleckstein is no more than a supplementary player at MSV. The former Schalke youth player was only allowed to play the full 90 minutes against Freiburg
