Good news for Rot-Weiss Essen: Lucas Brumme’s contract has been extended until June 30, 2025 via option.

The 2:1 defeat against Preußen Münster gives the fans of Rot-Weiss Essen at least one small reason to be happy afterwards.

Lucas Brumme’s contract has been extended by a further year until June 30, 2025 due to his 22nd appearance in the current third division season. The Essen club announced the news on Tuesday.

The 24-year-old Brumme came to a standstill in the Prussian half shortly before the change of ends in the West German clash in Münster and had to be treated by the RWE physios. He suffered an ankle contusion in a duel with Jano ter Horst and had to be substituted at half-time. Sascha Voelcke came on for him. The all-clear was given on Monday: the left-back is expected to return to team training this week. The contract extension followed on Tuesday. A good start to the week for RWE and Brumme.

Keyword contracts: 15 working papers, including loan player Marvin Obuz and U19 talent Ahmed Etri, expire at Hafenstrasse on June 30, 2024. And, not to forget: Head coach Christoph Dabrowski is also still in talks over a new contract.
