Essen club presents nine new signings – coach remains

District league club Turngemeinde Essen-West has presented nine new players during the winter break.

Dietmar Krause, coach of Turngemeinde Essen-West, had already said before the turn of the year regarding potential new additions: “We always have good boys in trial training. Many come from the University of Duisburg-Essen. Players come to Essen to study and want to play football. We are lucky that our facility is so conveniently located and close to the university. Little gems keep coming to train here.”

And, lo and behold, in January 2024, the Essen district league club presented nine new players, including two students.

In addition to Mert Aslaner, Yunus Bucuka (both Alemannia Essen), Eldor Gashi (ESC Rellinghausen), Onur Caparlar (RuWa Dellwig), Maruan El Machichi (Marokko Herne), Youssef Karoumat (Rot-Weiß Mülheim) and Nahom Zewolde (Duisburger SV 1900), Turngemeinde also announced the signings of students Paul Wernz (Heidelberg) and Ayyoub Hachlouf.

26 points after 18 games and twelve points ahead of the relegation places: Those responsible at Turngemeinde Essen-West can look back on a very successful first half of the season. As a reminder: Tgd. is promoted

In the second half of the season, the club from Haedenkampstraße wants to quickly secure their place in the league and plan for the new season. Some of the nine new players have already been brought in for next summer and the 2024/2025 season.

“We want to secure relegation quickly and then work specifically on the future squad with our head of sport Dennis Discher, who is doing an excellent job. We’ve already started doing that in the winter,” says Krause, who also gave his commitment for the 2024/2025 season a few days ago. This also applies to his assistant Torsten Hartmann.

Turngemeinde Essen-West will not be back in action in the Lower Rhine District League Season 6 for league points until February 18 (Sunday, 1:30 p.m.). SuS Haarzopf will then come to Haedenkampstraße for the Essen derby. Haarzopf are in fifth place and have six more points than Turngemeinde
