Dresden special train sold out – this is the red-white Bayern plan

There’s a lot of euphoria at Rot-Weiss Essen at the moment. The team is playing for promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga and the fans are hotter than ever.

Rot-Weiss Essen currently occupies 5th place in the 3rd division. RWE is only two points away from the third relegation spot, which guarantees two promotion matches against the third-last team in the 2nd Bundesliga.

It is clear that the euphoria around Hafenstrasse is huge. Coach Christoph Dabrowski’s team inspires the fans and they come to Hafenstrasse in droves – and are also very happy to travel after the team.

While the Revierklub has an average attendance of 16,225 fans per game at Hafenstraße and only ranks behind Arminia Bielefeld (17,096) and Dynamo Dresden (27,941) in this category, the Essen supporters are in first place in the away table. On average, 2,500 supporters accompany the team away from home.

It comes in handy that RWE will play nine of its remaining 15 matches away from home.

The next few trips will be tough. First comes the Bayern double-header with 1860 Munich (Tuesday, February 6, 7 p.m.) and SSV Jahn Regensburg (Saturday, February 10, 2 p.m.), followed by SSV Ulm (Saturday, February 17, 2 p.m.) at Hafenstrasse, before the hot game in Dresden (Saturday, February 24, 2 p.m.) is on the agenda.

Keyword Dresden: The Rot-Weiss Essen fan and sponsorship department (FFA) has organized a special train for 720 fans for this thrilling match. Within just 72 hours, the FFA reported “sold out”. After all, a ticket for the outward and return journey cost 99 euros.

In Munich and Regensburg, too, more than 1000 Essen fans are sure to support Dabrowski’s charges.

They will travel by plane from Düsseldorf to Munich on Monday afternoon (February 5). “We’re flying to the 1860 game and then taking the team bus back. But we won’t be flying to Regensburg – we’ll be driving there,” Christian Flüthmann, RWE sports director, told Forecasting.

The press conference with Dabrowski is scheduled for 12 noon before the departure on Monday
