Unterhaching follow up with 218-time second division player

A few days ago, this player was still a topic at Hallescher FC, but in the end he signed with Spielvereinigung Unterhaching.

And now Spielvereinigung Unterhaching have signed Yannick Stark after all. The 33-year-old unattached professional, who was under contract in Manisa, Turkey, until last summer 2023, had already been keeping himself fit with the Munich third-division club in November 2023.

At the time, however, Hachinger rejected the idea of signing Stark. The rethink followed on deadline day. Stark did not sign with Hallescher FC, as had been assumed, but instead put his signature to an employment contract at Hachinger Sportpark.

The midfielder could then make his debut for coach Marc Unterberger’s team next weekend, when the promoted third-division side visits 1. FC Saarbrücken on Sunday (February 12, 7:30 p.m.):

The latter told the “Merkur”: “The authorization to play is there, there are just a few details to be clarified. We’re pleased to have an additional personnel alternative.”

Yannick Stark comes from the youth ranks of Eintracht Frankfurt

Stark trained as a youth player at Eintracht Frankfurt and also played for the second team until the summer of 2010. This was followed by a move to MSV Duisburg with a direct loan to SV Darmstadt 98 and a year later to FSV Frankfurt. Curiously, he ended up playing a single competitive match for the Zebras before moving to Bornheimer Hang on a free transfer in 2011.

This was followed by further spells at TSV 1860 Munich and Dynamo Dresden. He was promoted to Bundesliga 2 with the Saxons in the summer of 2021 and relegated a year later. He then moved to Turkey in the summer of 2022 – a chapter that was not to be crowned with success.

In his career, Stark has made 218 second division appearances and 68 appearances in the modern third division. Stark could now help Halle FC in the fight against relegation from the third division. A direct competitor: Stark’s former club MSV Duisburg.
