After five years – Oberliga club and sporting director part ways

Oberliga club VfB Hilden must look for a new sporting director. As the club announced, Dennis Lichtenwimmer-Conversano is no longer in office.

After five years, Dennis Lichtenwimmer-Conversano is no longer the sporting director of Niederrhein-Oberliga club VfB Hilden. This was announced by the fifth-placed team in the table on Tuesday, February 6.

“After joint discussions during the winter break, both sides realized that after five years of working together, it was time for a new impulse and that the position of sporting director should be filled. VfB would like to thank Dennis Lichtenwimmer-Conversano for his many years of commitment and wish him all the best for the future,” Maximilian Kulesza, first chairman of Hilden, is quoted as saying on the club’s website. VfB has not announced a successor.

Lichtenwimmer-Conversano held the position of sporting director at VfB for five years and was also active in marketing. During his time in office, the first team finished as runners-up in the Oberliga, the second team was promoted and finished runners-up in the Landesliga and the U19s were promoted to the A-Junior Bundesliga.

Lichtenwimmer-Conversano regrets the separation: “Saying goodbye, especially to my home club, is extremely difficult for me. I would like to thank those responsible at the club for entrusting me with such a great responsibility at the age of just 29 and for supporting every decision,” he said.

He also addressed words to those who accompanied him during his time in office. “I would also like to thank all those who have accompanied me – the coaching teams, squad players, volunteers, sponsors and, of course, our loyal fans. We have achieved a lot together and I am of course keeping my fingers crossed that VfB will continue to play successful soccer at Hoffeld. “
