Transfer coup – SF Baumberg wins race for coveted goalscorer

Sportfreunde Baumberg have announced a new signing for the coming season and have prevailed over numerous interested parties.

The future of Sportfreunde Baumberg remains open. It is not yet publicly known whether the league leaders of the Oberliga Niederrhein would be promoted to the Regionalliga West or voluntarily remain in the fifth division.

What is clear, however, is that SFB have been successful in their bid for a sought-after striker. On Monday evening, the club announced the arrival of Robin Schnadt for the coming season – regardless of league affiliation.

Schnadt comes to Sandstraße from 1. FC Monheim. He scored 13 goals in 22 appearances for the regional league club. Last season, when Monheim were relegated from the Oberliga, Schnadt scored 15 times for the Baumbergers’ neighbors.

Schnadt, who was still playing for HSV Langenfeld in the district league until 2022, attracted the interest of many clubs with his goalscoring qualities. Baumberg have now been awarded the contract

“With Robin, we are getting a real center forward. He will enrich our attacking play. I’m also delighted that Robin has chosen Sportfreunde Baumberg despite many offers from the Oberliga and Regionalliga,” emphasized SFB boss Jürgen Schick.

He continued: “I also believe that he has seen at Sportfreunde Baumberg that he can still improve his sporting skills and that Sportfreunde have been doing a good job for years. Robin has proven in the Oberliga and in the Landesliga what a center forward is for.”

Head coach Salah El Halimi had already watched Schnadt two years ago. A transfer did not materialize back then. “Robin brings other qualities as a clear centre-forward that we don’t have in the squad,” emphasizes the coach. “In addition to his physicality, technique, power, finishing and heading ability, he also has a good understanding of the game and knows how to use his teammates. That gives us even more options up front.”

Now all that remains to be clarified is in which league Schnadt will play for Baumberg. “I’ll do everything I can to achieve my sporting goals together with the team in the new season,” says the attacker about his upcoming transfer.
