Summit meeting with RWE – “The team has maximum self-confidence”

On Sunday, March 17, 11 a.m., the top match in the U19 Lower Rhine League will take place at Nierster Straße in Meerbusch: TSV Meerbusch against Rot-Weiss Essen.

Second against first: TSV Meerbusch against Rot-Weiss Essen. Eight matchdays before the end of the season in the U19 Lower Rhine League, the summit meeting is on the cards.

RWE go into the clash against TSV with a one-point lead. Also due to the support from Rot-Weiß Oberhausen on the previous matchday.

“Everyone is very focused and showing good intensity. The boys are enjoying their personal development, are not satisfied, but remain hungry. It’s even better when their commitment is reflected in the results,” said Simon Hohenberg ahead of the top match.

For the Essen U19 coach, the fact that Meerbusch are a very strong opponent is not only reflected in their position in the table. Hohenberg is of course also familiar with the Rhinelanders’ playing strengths thanks to several match observations.

“We assume that Meerbusch will give us more of the ball and rely on a compact approach. The team is extremely results-oriented, has good set-piece specialists and will look for their salvation in a quick transition game,” explained the 37-year-old.

The direction of travel is clearly defined for the Red & Whites’ youth coach. Hohenberg emphasizes: “We want to dictate the tempo, make repeated pinpricks and defend well. The team is supremely confident and has everything in its own hands to defend its lead in the table.”

In terms of personnel, the Essen U19s will probably have to do without Ahmet Etri. The attacker is in recovery training after suffering adductor problems. Defender Berkant Gedikli has been invited to a training course with the Turkish national team – Forecasting reported. The appearances of Yan Marcos Friessner Montas and Yasin Pirnal (both flu) are still questionable
