The race for promotion in Westfalenliga 2 remains tight. However, Wacker Obercastrop must vacate second place on matchday 24.
Concordia Wiemelhausen remain ahead in the race for direct promotion in Westfalenliga 2. The team from Bochum prevailed in the top match at SV Westfalia Soest in the style of a top team.
However, coach Carsten Droll’s team initially had to chase a 2-0 deficit. They then got into the game better and turned the result around to 4:2. Soest’s final goal to make it 4:3 came too late.
However, another top team, Wacker Obercastrop, suffered a setback. The ambitious team were held to a 1-1 draw by FC Iserlohn and had to concede second place to Holzwickeder SC. HSC won their match against SC Neheim 1:0.
Behind them, as in the previous season, things remain tight. DSC Wanne-Eickel scored an important victory. After beating Hombrucher SV 4-1, coach Pascal Beilfuß’s team are now seven points clear of the relegation places.
However, relegation is not yet certain. Neither are city rivals SV Sodingen. They only managed a 1-1 draw against SC Obersprockhövel. Both teams are only a few points above the bottom line.
SpVgg Horsthausen can plan much more comfortably for the coming season. The newly promoted team from Herne beat RSV Meinerzhagen 4:0 and is now in the top half of the table with six matchdays to go in the season
Meanwhile, FC Lennestadt won 1:0 at Lüner SV. BSV Schüren were also able to secure an away win at relegated Oberliga side TuS Erndtebrück. BSV managed a 2:1 victory
