RWO departure Mai remains in the Regionalliga West

Rot-Weiß Oberhausen had said goodbye to seven players before the last match of the season in the Regionalliga West against FC Wegberg-Beeck. Two of them have now found new employers.

Rinor Rexha, Tobias Boche, Glory-Matonda Ngyombo, Tim Stappmann, Sebastian Mai, Christian März and Fabian Holthaus were officially released by Rot-Weiß Oberhausen.

After Holthaus, who is moving to Regionalliga relegated Rot Weiss Ahlen in the Oberliga Westfalen, a second RWO departure, Sebastian Mai, has now also found a new club.

Mai is returning to SC Wiedenbrück. “Even though the month is not yet over, we can headline today. Sebastian Mai, a player who already wore the SCW jersey as a youth player, is returning. The now 23-year-old right winger moved to Rot Weiss Ahlen after his youth at SCW and most recently played for Rot-Weiß Oberhausen, where he scored a goal in the Lower Rhine Cup. He has signed until 2025,” according to a Wiedenbrück press release.

In total, attacker Mai can look back on 36 games (three goals, four assists) in an RWO shirt. He made 101 appearances for Ahlen (22 goals, 10 assists). Wiedenbrück will now be his third senior station from July 1, 2024
