76 games and 34 goals for RWO! Lüner SV signs new striker

Lüner SV is still working on the 2024/2025 squad for the Westfalenliga season. LSV has also managed to pull off a small transfer coup.

Coach Hayrettin Celik and sporting director Athavan Varathan are continuing to work intensively on Lüner SV’s completely revamped Westfalenliga squad. Now LSV has also landed a big fish.

Tarik Kurt, 26 years old and a native of Unna, who lives in Dortmund, has joined the Lions. The former Turkey international can look back on a decent career. He comes to Lüner SV from Königsborner SV.

With Borussia Dortmund, he won the U17 championship twice and the U19 championship once. He also won the Lower Rhine Cup with Rot-Weiß Oberhausen, where he was top scorer in the competition. Tarik also has 64 games of experience in the regional league. He played a total of 76 competitive matches for RWO, scoring 34 goals.

He and LSV head coach Celik know each other from their time together as youth players at Borussia Dortmund. They later crossed paths at Rot-Weiß Oberhausen. Now they are meeting for a third time at Lüner SV.

“Tarik is a free spirit who will enrich our game. He has also opted for the new project, which we will tackle together from July. We’re really looking forward to it,” says Celik, who is still on summer vacation in Spain with his family.

Lüner SV: Players from Hamm and Münster also join the team

When Celik soon asks his protégés to warm up, Damasy Daniel will also be there. He joins LSV from Hammer Spielvereinigung.

“Damasy is a footballer who lives for the sport. He goes through fire for you and goes where it hurts in the game. He still has a lot of potential,” emphasized Lünen’s sporting director Varathan, who recently also signed Jan Schüpphaus from the U19s of second division promoted team SC Preußen Münster.

Varathan: “The club sees him as a goalkeeper with great potential and is supporting him in his further development. The aim is to carefully introduce Jan to the demands of senior soccer and give him the opportunity to gain valuable match practice. “
