Perfect! BVB II top scorer Ole Pohlmann moves abroad

Borussia Dortmund’s second team is losing one of its best players. Ole Pohlmann is moving abroad.

Midfielder Ole Pohlmann is leaving Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund and moving to Portugal. The 23-year-old will play for first division club Rio Ave FC. This was announced by both clubs.

His contract with BVB runs until June 30, 2025; in Portugal, he will receive a three-year contract. It was agreed not to disclose the terms of the transfer.

In March 2024, Pohlmann told Forecasting regarding a professional career at BVB: “Hope never dies. I will always have the dream of playing in the Bundesliga. That’s simply my big goal. I give my all for it every week, whether in training or in matches. I try to get the best out of it for the team and for myself. We all want to draw attention to ourselves. If we’re successful, then every single one of us benefits from that.”

BVB II played a good season, but it was not enough for Pohlmann to earn a place in the professional squad in 2024/2025. He has now decided to seek his fortune in Portugal.

Pohlmann himself had played a really good season. The central midfielder played 29 matches, scored 13 goals and was involved in a further ten goals. In total, Pohlmann can look back on 96 third division matches (18 goals, 20 assists). He has also played twice for the BVB professionals.

BVB II additions: Danylo Krevsun, Filippo Mane, Leonardo Posadas (all own U19s), Baran Mogultay (MSV Duisburg), David Lelle (Holstein Kiel), Ben Hüning (SC Wiedenbrück), Yannik Lührs (Hannover 96), Felix Paschke (Hamburger SV), Niklas Jessen (FC St. Pauli), Babis Drakas (VfB Stuttgart), Jordi Paulina (USV Hercules), Antonio Foti (Eintracht Frankfurt).
