As in previous years, season ticket sales were stopped at 40,000 season tickets. A good 6,000 of the 62,271 tickets available are being held back for visiting fans. It will be exciting to see whether the Royal Blues can improve on the all-time second division world record they set themselves last season with an average of 61,502 spectators. However, the stadium occupancy rate was already just under 99%. A total of 1,045,465 fans attended Schalke’s home matches last year.
