Two-year contract – this is the new main sponsor

After a long search, a new main sponsor has been found. The Swiss company Sun Minimeal will advertise on the Schalke jerseys in future.

On Friday afternoon, FC Schalke 04 played in the pre-season Veltins jerseys in a test match against the Dutch first division team FC Utrecht (0:2). A few minutes after the final whistle, however, it was clear that this would be Schalke’s last match with Veltins as sponsor on the chest – because after a long search, a new main sponsor has finally been found: Sun AG.

The Swiss company sells meal replacement products and will now advertise with the Sun Minimeal product on the Schalker jersey chest. An initial two-year cooperation has been contractually agreed. As this newspaper has learned, the sponsorship sum for the first year of the contract has already been transferred to Schalke. However, it has not yet been communicated how much money S04 will receive from the Swiss – but the Schalke team is satisfied with the contract volume, according to sources close to the club. However, a sleeve sponsor is still being sought.

Schalke: The main sponsors were a major construction site

“In Sun AG, we have found a partner who will be with us for the next few years,” explained Schalke’s CEO Matthias Tillmann in a video message. “Sun AG and Schalke 04 share the ambition to present top results and innovative solutions in their respective areas.”

Schalke hope that the deal, which was arranged together with the marketing company Sportfive, will provide them with planning security for the coming years. After all, the issue of a main sponsor has been a major construction site for S04 in the recent past. Since parting ways with long-time sponsor Gazprom following the Russian invasion of Ukraine in early 2022, Schalke has had three different main sponsors in Vivawest, MeinAuto.de and Veltins.

New Schalke jersey to be presented on Sunday at Schalke Day

The new Schalke jersey will be presented at the Schalke Day, the big season opening this Sunday (from 12 noon). Fans will also have the opportunity to get to know Sun AG and its products, which are still largely unknown in Germany – the sponsorship at Schalke should change this in the coming months.
