VfL Bochum invites you to the 2024/2025 season opener on the weekend of August 10, 2024.

Once again this year, VfL Bochum will traditionally open the new season one week before the start of competitive matches – the DFB Cup match at SSV Jahn Regensburg on 18.08.2024 (15:30)

However, the dress rehearsal will not be able to take place in the Ruhrstadion this summer – extensive maintenance and conversion work on the voice alarm system will not allow this. The test match against Le Havre AC can still be watched together in the stadium at the VfL fan festival. As the Bochum club announced, the match against the French first division team will be shown live on a large LED screen.

The event starts on Saturday, August 10, at 5 pm. There will be food and drink stands on site. A celebrity panel discussion is planned for 5:30 p.m., before the team of new coach Peter Zeidler (kick-off 6 p.m.) can be cheered on from afar. There will also be live music on the stage from 8 p.m.

VfL Bochum: Family day on Sunday

On Sunday, August 11, the VfL Family Day will take place. The program starts at 11 am.

The program for young and old includes bouncy castles, a go-kart track and soccer darts. There will also be a bungee run, craft activities and much more. Food and drink will also be provided.

Soccer is not the only focus on this day. The gymnastics, dance, handball, badminton and fencing departments will also be presenting themselves and inviting people to join in and try out their skills. VfL legends will be on site for a talk before the ball starts rolling on the athletics field at 12:30 pm. The women, who have just been promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga, will test themselves against VfR SW Warbeyen 1945 and then fulfill photo and autograph requests.

Finally, from 3 p.m., the professional men’s team will follow from France and also fulfill fans’ autograph requests. The program is scheduled to end at 6 p.m.
