On Saturday, they drew 1-1 against SC Paderborn U23, and on Sunday they drew 1-1 (1-0) against FC Bayern Munich in front of 9,000 spectators. A great success for the team from Düren.
The match came about because Düren was unable to play its first-round home tie against FC Bayern in the 2020/21 DFB Cup season due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The 3:0 win for FCB was played in the Allianz Arena. Uli Hoeneß promised that Bayern would come to the club for a friendly match after the pandemic. This promise has now been kept.
