Six young players – this is how BVB travels to the training camp

Borussia Dortmund set off for training camp on Wednesday, January 3. Some of the talented players around U17 world champion Paris Brunner will be at the start.

Borussia Dortmund kicked off its winter preparations at its home ground on Tuesday, January 2. Just one day later, the team departs for Spain. From January 3 to 9, the team of Edin Terzic and the two new assistant coaches Nuri Sahin and Sven Bender will be preparing at the training camp in Marbella.

Two international test matches will be played there. On January 6 (3.30 pm), the Black & Yellows will face Alkmaar for four 30-minute matches, and three days later, on January 9 (11 am), they will take on Standard Liège before their departure.

31 players will make the journey south, including six youngsters. Central defender Hendry Blank (19), full-back Guille Bueno (21), center Kjell Wätjen (17), the two wingers Cole Campbell (17) and Samuel Bamba (19) as well as attacker Paris Brunner (17) are all on board. Goalkeeper Marcel Lotka (22), nominally in the professional squad but a member of the second team, is also on the plane.

Ramy Bensebaini and Sebastien Haller, on the other hand, will not be part of the squad as they will both be competing in the Africa Cup starting on January 13th – Bensebaini will face Angola, Burkina Faso and Mauritania in Group D with Algeria, while Haller will have to play against Equatorial Guinea, Guinea-Bissau and Nigeria in Group A with hosts Côte d’Ivoire.
