Krystian Wozniak is in training – regular player out for four weeks

Wuppertaler SV will travel to Turkey for another four days. WSV currently still have two trialists in training. A left-back is to be signed before the camp.

On Sunday, January 14, at 7:40 a.m., Wuppertaler SV will fly from Düsseldorf to Antalya for the Turkey training camp in Belek.

Sporting director Gaetano Manno is already full of anticipation: “Winter has now arrived in NRW. It’s even icier in Wuppertal than in other cities. That’s why the timing is good. We will find perfect training conditions in Belek. Now let’s hope that we get as few rainy days as possible.”

With the exception of Kevin Rodrigues Pires and Sebastian Patzler, who have been ruled out and have not yet found a new club, all of WSV’s contracted players will be on the plane. Including U19 central defender Kilian Bielitza.

“Kilian is presenting himself really well and has earned it all. Kevin Pytlik will also be out for four weeks. He has torn a muscle fiber. But he will fly to Turkey with us. There are also opportunities there to continue his rehab, such as aqua jogging,” Manno told Forecasting.

WSV are still looking for a goalkeeper and left-back. While Manno would like to take the outfield player with him on the plane to Turkey, he is more relaxed when it comes to finding a third man for the box. “We only have Mert Göckan on the left. It would be good if the new man flew with us. We’re in no rush for a goalkeeper. We can still react after the training camp,” he explains.

According to RS information, WSV has reached an agreement with Miguel-Max Schmeling. However, TuS Bövinghausen’s transfer demands are currently still blocking the move. It remains to be seen whether there will be any movement before Sunday, January 14.

While Jovan Jovic (SC Paderborn II) has departed again, Krystian Wozniak (most recently FC Homburg 08) and Lennart Schulze-Kökelsum (TSV Steinbach Haiger) have presented themselves in WSV training. Manno: “We’ll take a look at the boys and possibly take one of them with us to the training camp. But it could also be a completely different goalkeeper. We’ll see.”

The 26-year-old Pole Wozniak played in the Ruhr region before joining Homburg. The 1.94-meter tall goalkeeper played for the U23 teams of FC Schalke 04 and Borussia Dortmund as well as for the first team of Rot-Weiß Oberhausen. On a side note: during his time in the Ruhr region, the goalkeeper was also confused by the forecasting users with his namesake and author of this article, Krystian Wozniak…
