Perfect! SC Verl gets offensive power from the 2nd Bundesliga

The Sportclub Verl has strengthened its squad once again. A player from the 2nd Bundesliga is coming to Poststraße.

Third new signing for SC Verl: After the departure of captain Mael Corboz to Arminia Bielefeld and the signings of Marco Mannhardt (FV Illertissen) and Berkan Taz (Waldhof Mannheim), the third division club has once again made a big splash on the transfer market.

The Verl sports club has confirmed the loan of Niclas Nadj, the 23-year-old offensive player from SC Paderborn, until the end of the current season. Nadj, has already played in the 2nd Bundesliga and the Regionalliga West this season. He has played seven games for SCP in the current series, in which he scored one goal and set up another.

Nadj also made two appearances in the DFB Cup (one assist) and four appearances in the regional league in the current season (two assists). The Hamburg native has played a total of 18 second division matches so far.

Sebastian Lange, sporting director in Verl, says of the third new signing in this winter transfer window: “With Niclas, we are bringing a player into the team who is not only known for his creativity on the field, but also for his strong presence. His versatility and ability to play in different positions make him a valuable player. He is a player who can make the difference in crucial moments. With his way of reading and influencing the game, he will undoubtedly be an asset to our team. We are very happy to have him with us and look forward to seeing him in action in the second half of the season.”

Nadj, who was trained at the FC St. Pauli youth academy, came to Paderborn from SC Weiche Flensburg in January 2023 and still has a contract at the club beyond next summer. On Saturday (January 27, 2 p.m.), Verl will travel to the bottom-placed team in the 3rd division, the second team of SC Freiburg. That will likely be Nadj’s debut.
