From Kerkrade – RWO gets new offensive player

Shortly before the end of the transfer window, Rot-Weiß Oberhausen presented a new signing.

What Forecasting already reported was confirmed by Rot-Weiß Oberhausen on Wednesday evening.

RWO has signed another player before Friday’s game in the Regionalliga West against SV Lippstadt (7:30 p.m.). Phil Sieben will play for the cloverleaves with immediate effect.

The 24-year-old midfielder, who was last under contract with Roda Kerkrade, can be fielded on Friday. Sieben was trained at VfL Lüneburg, SC Paderborn and FC Schalke 04. In addition to twelve appearances in the A-Junior Bundesliga, Sieben played 52 times in the West Regional League for Fortuna Düsseldorf II. He also made two appearances for Fortuna’s professional team.

Now the move to Oberhausen, which the sporting director Patrick Bauder is pleased about: “We are happy that we were able to strengthen our offense with Phil before the transfer window closed. He is a player who can play in all offensive positions and brings playful elements into the game.”

After signing, the newcomer emphasized: “The environment and the coaching team made it easy for me to decide to join RWO. I was given a great welcome in the first training session and hope to play a successful season to help the club achieve its goals.”

To do that, they need three points against Lippstadt on Friday. Injured players Oguzhan Kefkir, Marius Kleinsorge (both out of training) and Nico Klaß (back problems) will not be able to help the team from 7 p.m.

Cottrell Ezekwem (yellow-red), Pierre Fassnacht and Tim Stappmann (both yellow suspension) will also not be there. RWO are nine points behind leaders 1. FC Bocholt after a game less.
