After two wins in two games under Ersan Parlatan, Wuppertal SV is dreaming of returning to the 3rd division after more than a decade.
Wuppertaler SV is currently seven points behind Alemannia Aachen and 1. FC Bocholt. The two are tied at the top of the table, with Aachen only two goals ahead of Bocholt in terms of goal difference.
When Ersan Parlatan took over as WSV coach, he emphasized in the forecasting interview: “I am a clear person who does not do things by halves. I want to get Wuppertal SV promoted to the 3rd division. We still have all options. My job now is to find the missing percentages that are necessary for success. If we manage that, then there is still the possibility of getting close again. You can always make up a nine-point deficit in 15 remaining games. I am convinced of that.”
No sooner said than done: the first two games were won and the gap to the top was reduced from nine to seven points. There are still 13 games to go.
Gaetano Manno, manager of the red-and-blue team, is currently very satisfied and feels a new sense of unity. “We are growing as a team. It wasn’t always like that in the first half of the season. Now, when goals are scored, we celebrate again like in the first games – on the pitch, on the substitutes’ bench and in the stands. The important thing is to accept the coach’s decisions. Everyone is needed, everyone has to work hard. Those who come in give everything. I see us back on the right track,” Manno said in the ‘Wuppertaler Rundschau’.
My goal is to determine the path with the club and the sponsors early on. Even if it would be less of a budget, I believe that we can put together a good team
