Many suspensions even after the last matchday. Three players alone will be missing from the VfL Bochum game in Gladbach.
The longer a season lasts, the more often suspensions interfere with the teams. Even after the last matchday, several players have been caught again in the first three professional leagues, affecting matches with regional involvement.
An overview of the players who will be suspended next weekend
TSG Hoffenheim – BVB
No one is missing from the Borussia Dortmund game in Hoffenheim.
Borussia Mönchengladbach – VfL Bochum
Both teams have to cope with painful losses next weekend. VfL captain Anthony Losilla received his fifth yellow card after a foul in the sensational 3-2 win against Bayern Munich.
Meanwhile, Borussia Mönchengladbach is missing the centerpiece of its back three. In the 2-0 defeat to RB Leipzig, both Nico Elvedi and Ko Itakura saw the fifth yellow card and are therefore missing against VfL.
1. FC Magdeburg – Schalke 04
No Schalke player is suspended in Magdeburg. The hosts, on the other hand, have to replace Jean Hugonet. The defensive midfielder was sent off in Berlin in only his tenth appearance for the club – meaning he will not be available against Schalke. His suspension has now been set at one match.
Dynamo Dresden – Rot-Weiss Essen
RWE have lost four of their last seven games, while Dresden have lost three of their last four. Nevertheless, the second-placed team will play against the sixth-placed team this coming Saturday (2 p.m.). And they will be without two central defenders. Dresden’s Lars Bünning received his fifth yellow card in the 2-1 loss in Aue. Essen’s Jose Enrique Rios Alonso received his fifth yellow card in the 2-0 loss against SSV Ulm 1846.
Preußen Münster – MSV Duisburg
There will be no yellow card suspensions for the MSV game in Münster.
SpVgg Unterhaching – BVB U23
At the away game in Unterhaching, the U23 team of Borussia Dortmund in the 3rd Bundesliga will have to do without Prince Aning, who still has to serve two matches due to a red card suspension.
