New job! Farat Toku returns to the Western Bundesliga

After four years, Farat Toku is returning to the Regionalliga West. His new club introduced him on Tuesday afternoon (October 31).

SV Rödinghausen has found its new head coach and successor to Carsten Rump, who has been released: Farat Toku is the new coach at Wiehen with immediate effect.

The 43-year-old football coach had been assistant coach at Süper Lig club Alanyaspor since July 1, 2023, only dissolved his contract on the Turkish Mediterranean coast at the beginning of the week, boarded a plane and landed in Germany on Monday evening.

According to information from the club, the Bochum-born coach has signed a contract until June 30, 2025. Former coach Rump is also still under contract with Rödinghausen until that date.

“We chose Farat Toku because we are completely convinced of his abilities as a coach. He is an absolute football expert and a real people person.

nger. I also talked to some of his ex-players and they all agreed: For Farat Toku, the players would go through fire and water. We are pleased that we were able to bring him from the Süper Lig to the Regionalliga West to SV Rödinghausen. He really wanted to be head coach again,” Alexander Müller, managing director of sports at SV Rödinghausen, told Forecasting.

Toku, a native of Bochum, was head coach of FC Viktoria Berlin for about four months before his stint in Alanya. With the capital city club, he had just missed out on avoiding relegation in the 3rd division, but after the relegation he still won the Berlin State Cup and then said goodbye to Viktoria.

Successful time at SG Wattenscheid 09 – Rödinghausen debut against Rot-Weiß Oberhausen

The former professional, who played for SC Preußen Münster, among others, experienced his most successful time at SG Wattenscheid 09. Between January 2015 and October 2019, he was initially only the head coach at the former Bundesliga club, but in the meantime he was also the sporting director and actually the man for everything. He repeatedly managed to keep Wattenscheid in the league with the smallest budget in the Regionalliga West and to annoy the big teams.

At some point, he felt uncomfortable in the chaotic environment of the Lohrheide and just wanted to be a coach in a professional environment. At SV Rödinghausen, he can fully immerse himself in his profession as a football coach.

After 13 games, the SVR, who were so highly rated before the season, are in 13th place with just 16 points and 13 points behind leaders 1. FC Bocholt. Toku will make his debut next Saturday against Rot-Weiß Oberhausen.
