Mittelrhein Cup draw – Alemannia to test against Bundesliga club

Alemannia Aachen has two new fixtures this Tuesday: a friendly and the first round of the Mittelrhein Cup.

Alemannia Aachen will play a friendly against Dutch first division club NEC Nijmegen during the international break.

The game will take place on Thursday (October 10) at the 16th-placed team in the Eredivisie, behind closed doors.

And another date for Alemannia: the draw for the first round of the 2024/25 Mittelrhein Cup took place on Tuesday evening (October 8). Title defender Alemannia Aachen was drawn against Horremer SV, which plays in the district league.

The general date for the first round of the cup is Wednesday, October 30, 2024. As the team from a lower division, Alemannia’s opponent automatically has home advantage.

In the 2024/25 season, the field of participants in the Mittelrhein Cup will consist of 32 teams for the last time before being increased to 64 teams in the next season. In addition to Alemannia, Viktoria Cologne will also be taking part from the 3rd division, as will SC Fortuna Cologne, 1. FC Düren and Eintracht Hohkeppel from the Regionalliga West. The cup, including the final, will be played in five rounds. The final will take place as part of the Final Day of the Amateurs on May 24, 2025 at the Höhenberg Sports Park in Cologne.
