Rot-Weiss Essen falls back to 16th place after the 1:3 against SC Verl and is in the relegation battle. We discuss this in the RWE talk.
Another setback for Rot-Weiss Essen in the 3rd division: On Wednesday evening, RWE suffered a painful 1:3 (0:0) home defeat against their nemesis SC Verl. The defeat was triggered by a controversial red card shown to Julian Eitschberger in the 32nd minute, which infuriated all RWE supporters and the club’s management, as referee Nico Fuchs first showed the yellow card and then the red card.
The third home defeat of the season is causing growing concern at Hafenstraße. The relegation places are getting closer and closer, and the pressure on the team is increasing. On Saturday, the cellar duel is at crisis club Hansa Rostock. Our RWE talk is about the bitter game and its consequences. Moderator Kira Alex talks to RWE reporters Ralf Wilhelm and Martin Herms.
There was great excitement in the RWE camp about Eitschberger’s red card, but our talk also relentlessly analyzes what happened in the half hour before the sending off. The Essen team was unable to continue the upward trend of recent weeks and disappointed across the board. Despite being a man down, the defensive behavior also left something to be desired later on.
Our RWE reporters emphasize that there is no need to panic at Hafenstraße yet. However, staying in the league is not a sure thing. RWE is facing a complicated third division season. You can find the complete analysis in our talk show. Enjoy the new episode “vonne Hafenstraße – Inside RWE”!
