MSV Duisburg remained unbeaten for the fourth time in a row at 1. FC Köln, beating them 4-2. Schalke also had reason to celebrate, while Leverkusen narrowly avoided a slip-up.
On matchday 13 of the A-Junior Bundesliga West, a challenging task awaited MSV Duisburg at fifth-placed 1. FC Cologne. However, the Zebras, who went into the match day in eighth place with 15 points from their first twelve games, had previously gone four matches without a defeat.
In the Franz Kremer Stadium, Kaan Inanoglu, who many MSV supporters had been hoping to see in the professional team for weeks, had another good day. After 23 minutes, he scored the opening goal, which Jaka Potocnik was able to equalize (34′). But shortly after the 1-1, the Duisburg striker was on the ball again and scored his eighth goal of the season to give his team a half-time lead (39′).
After the break, it was a double strike from Kasper Harbering (61′) and Enes Rüzgar (62′), which sealed the away win. Potocnik’s second goal of the day made it 2-4, too late for Cologne.
Amoussou-Tchibara excels at S04
Schalke were also able to celebrate away from home – and had one player in particular to thank for that: Zaid Amoussou-Tchibara. The winger from Togo excelled at Fortuna Düsseldorf with a hat-trick (42nd/70th/86th), practically single-handedly shooting his team to a 3-0 win at the Paul-Janes Stadium. In between, goalkeeper Luca Podlech saved a penalty kick against Mechak Quiala-Tito (58th).
Meanwhile, BVB’s pursuers from Leverkusen only just avoided a major slip-up. At basement-dwellers Viktoria Cologne, Werkself took an early lead through Enes Yilmaz (6th), but after the break, Said El Mala (54th) and Sisco Ngambia Dzonga (61st) surprisingly turned the game around. However, Victoria was not rewarded for this, because after Francis Onyeka equalized, Raoul Petak scored the winning goal for Bayer 04 in the fourth minute of stoppage time. This move sees the Werkself move three points clear of Borussia Dortmund at the top of the table – albeit with three more games played.
