Tobias Mohr will be out of action for FC Schalke 04 again in the next home game due to his thigh injury. Taylan Bulut is absent from training.
FC Schalke 04 will have to do without Tobias Mohr for even longer. After the 29-year-old winger already missed the away game at Hamburger SV (2:2), he will definitely also be missing the home game against 1. FC Kaiserslautern on Friday (6:30 p.m./Sky). Mohr is sidelined with a thigh injury that he sustained during a training session last week.
Nevertheless, Schalke hopes that the left-footer will be able to play again this year. It may be tight for the second division away game at SC Paderborn (December 6), but it could be enough for the last two first-half games against Düsseldorf (December 14) and in Elversberg (December 20).
With three goals and four assists this season, Mohr is one of Schalke’s top scorers. At the same time, he is the positive surprise in the S04 squad. The former Heidenheim player was actually on the sidelines in the summer, and was supposed to leave the club. Because other clubs did not make offers and Mohr prepared well, he was suddenly set in the starting eleven at the beginning of the season – and he convinced. He has been in the starting eleven eleven times in the current second division season.
At the 2:2 in Hamburg on Saturday, Mohr was replaced on the left wing by Amin Younes (31). The former international scored his first goal of the season to make it 2-1. At the beginning of the week, however, Younes had to take it easy. Instead of training with the team, the offensive player only trained individually on Monday – just like right-back Taylan Bulut (18). However, both are expected to be able to play against Kaiserslautern.
Meanwhile, strikers Emil Höjlund (19) and Christopher Antwi-Adjei (30) made progress in training. Both were able to take part in large parts of the session again.
