KFC Uerdingen have won their last six games in a row. But not all players have had much part in these triplets.
KFC Uerdingen have been doing extremely well for a few weeks now. The Krefeld team have returned to the title race with six wins in a row and are chasing fall champions Sportfreunde Baumberg.
They are currently nine points behind Monheim. This difference results from the first half of the season. At that time, KFC Uerdingen, under coach and sporting director Marcus John, was still searching for its form.
At the beginning of the season, John still used players that he tended to neglect in the last successful weeks. One of these players is Maurice Haar.
The 28-year-old came to the Grotenburg last summer as captain of TuS Bövinghausen and naturally had high expectations. And he also played in the first eight games from the start. But it didn’t work out and John made changes. He now trusts Ole Päffgen.
“Ole is doing an excellent job as a central defender and we are winning games,” says John, who reveals: ”Maurice proactively approached me because he is dissatisfied with his situation. That’s understandable. We had a frank conversation. The result is that he will look for a new club in the winter. Maurice is a fine and clever boy, but he will have a hard time with us in the future.”
While Haar only missed 17 minutes of the total playing time until the 8th match day, he only played three more times from the 9th match day – for one, 45 and 90 minutes. The former Westfalia-Herne player cannot cope with the role of a substitute.
As Forecasting has learned, the first clubs have already contacted Haar. The defender is likely to be drawn back to Westphalia. The Oberliga clubs SG Wattenscheid 09 and ASC 09 Dortmund are showing great interest. The fact that Haar lives in the Westphalian metropolis would speak in favor of ASC. If he were to accept in Dortmund-Aplerbeck, he would no longer have to travel between Dortmund and Krefeld, but would play at home.
