FC Kray squander two leads in the top game and end up losing 2:3

FC Kray wanted to attack at the front in the Landesliga Niederrhein 2. After the defeat in the top game, the gap to the top is wider again.

Top game in the Landesliga Niederrhein 2. FC Kray, who have not lost in eight matches, faced SF Niederwenigern in the postponed game.

The curious thing before the game: Kray had played two fewer games than the competition, Niederwenigern even three. Now the table is more meaningful and Kray is back in the running after the 2-3 defeat, because two leads were not enough to win a point.

The result in the table: Kray remains fifth, Niederwenigern jumps to second place and, with two catch-up games, can take over the top of the table with their own resources,

The game: Here the Essen team got off to a real lightning start. Marc Andre Gotzeina scored the 1-0 after just two minutes. With the first action of the game, he put the FCK in the lead with a great shot from the far right outside the box.

Yassine Bel-Mustapha almost increased the lead after six minutes, but his shot went just wide of the goal. But after the strong start by the hosts, the visitors also got into the game better.

And after 20 minutes, Dominik Enz equalized – already his 15th goal of the season. The teams went in at half-time with the score at 1:1, and the first highlight after the break was the 2:1.

Kray’s Pascal Itter was fouled, and the penalty kick he took himself resulted in the 2:1 for FC Kray. But the Sportfreunde came back again. Ten minutes after the 2:1, there was another penalty kick, and Alexander Golz did not miss the chance – 2:2.

But the game had more to offer. In the 78th minute, the visitors from Niederwenigern took the lead for the first time. Again it was Enz who scored his second goal to turn the game completely around. Kray almost came back, but Ayman Abdelrhman Yousif Yagoub hit the bar in the 90th minute, so it remained 2:3 from Krayer’s point of view.

FC Kray will next play on Sunday (3 p.m.) against SV Biemenhorst. Niederwenigern will play on Sunday at 1:15 p.m. at SG Essen-Schönebeck.
