An overview of the figures from the first half of the season
Matches to be played
Some matches have to be made up. For example, the 19th matchday could not take place for the most part. The dates have not yet been set.
Top scorers
Together with Kevin Goden from 1.FC Düren, Justin Diehl leads the Regionalliga West scoring charts. With 12 goals, the young striker of 1.FC Köln, who is probably toying with the idea of a transfer, is responsible for almost a third of Cologne’s goals (38). Diehl, however, needed 19 games for his 12 goals, while Goden scored his 12 in just 16 matches.
Moritz Stoppelkamp (Rot-Weiß Oberhausen) and Charlison Benschop (Wuppertaler SV) are both lurking behind the leaders. The veterans each scored ten goals for their clubs.
The goalkeepers had to reach for the ball a total of 499 times.
Spectators
Alemannia Aachen is way out in front when it comes to spectators. 15,278 visitors came to the Tivoli on average. RWO came in second, with 3,402 spectators, just ahead of Wuppertal SV (3,330). The front-runner in the table of competitive matches, 1. FC Bocholt, is in fifth place with an average of 2,040 spectators.
The last three places are, not surprisingly, occupied by Borussia Mönchengladbach II (506 visitors per home game), FC Wegberg-Beeck (449 visitors per home game) and FC Schalke 04 II (356 spectators per home game).
A total of 329,119 spectators have come to the stadiums so far. That makes an average of 2,096.
Cards
With 67 card points, consisting of 51 yellow, two yellow-red and two red cards, Rot Weiss Ahlen leads the fairness table from the bottom. They are closely followed by Alemannia Aachen (63 card points), who set a league record with a total of 6 dismissals (3 yellow-red, 3 red cards).
SV Lippstadt is the league’s fairest team. 34 yellow and two yellow-red cards add up to 40 card points. FC Gütersloh saw yellow 37 times and once the red card (42 points).
Eternal table
Eight teams from the current Regionalliga season are among the top ten in the all-time Regionalliga table. Rot-Weiß Oberhausen leads the way, ahead of Borussia Mönchengladbach II. In third place is Rot-Weiss Essen, a current third division club.
