Wuppertaler SV will start their winter preparation on January 3, 2024. It is quite possible that a new player will join them in the next few days.
With Ersan Parlatan, a new coach has taken the helm at Wuppertaler SV. On Wednesday, January 3, 2024, the 46-year-old soccer coach will ask his new team for the first unit.
With Durim Berisha, a former squad member will no longer be there. The central defender terminated his contract and, according to forecasting information, is about to sign with the Regionalliga West bottom team Sport- und Spielvereinigung Velbert.
It is quite possible that two more contracts will be terminated in the next few days. Sebastian Patzler and Kevin Pires Rodrigues, who, like Berisha, were suspended before the last game of the year against Borussia Mönchengladbach II (4-0), will also have a hard time in sporting terms under the new coach. “We will address this issue on Tuesday and make a decision,” said Gaetano Manno to our editorial team on Tuesday morning (January 2nd).
The Wuppertaler SV manager also wants to pursue another personnel matter in the next few days. Namely: Migel-Max Schmeling, left back and captain of TuS Bövinghausen. “We’ll meet for a coffee. He’s an interesting player. But I can’t say any more at this point in time,” Manno reveals.
The 23-year-old Schmeling is one of 17 players at the cash-strapped fifth division club TuS Bövinghausen who are allowed to leave the club in the winter without paying transfer fees. According to RS information, other regional league clubs, such as Rot Weiss Ahlen, are also said to be interested in Schmeling, in addition to WSV.
Migel-Max Schmeling was trained at Schalke, MSV and BVB
The Gelsenkirchen native has an interesting resume. He learned to play soccer at DJK Eintracht Erle 1928 (2004 to 2008) and later – from 2008 to 2014 – also played in the FC Schalke 04 youth program.
He also spent time at the youth academies of MSV Duisburg (2014 to 2020) and one season – 2020/2021 – in the U23 team of Borussia Dortmund. Schmeling, who played in eight third-division matches, five regional league matches and 48 upper league matches, finally ended up at TuS Bövinghausen in the summer of 2021 via BVB II and SC Verl.
