Calf injury – key player out for several weeks

Not only did SC Preußen Münster suffer their second defeat in a row in the 3rd division at SSV Jahn Regensburg, they also lost two key players in their defense.

The long trip to SSV Jahn Regensburg was extremely bitter for Sascha Hildmann and his SC Preußen Münster in many respects. Despite a good performance, the promoted team ultimately had to admit defeat against the relegated team with 1:2.

But that’s not all. The Münster team also lost two absolute key players in defense. Captain Thomas Kok was sent off after making an emergency stop in the 71st minute. In addition, defensive midfielder Sebastian Mrowca had already injured himself during a sprint to the back in the opening phase and had to be replaced by Yassine Bouchama.

On Monday, the club then announced the result of the MRI examination of the summer newcomer from Wiesbaden. As the eagle bearers announced, the 29-year-old will be absent “in the next few weeks” with a calf injury.

Hildmann: “That’ll give the others a chance to prove themselves”

Hildmann must have had a feeling on Saturday, before the 600-kilometre journey back from Regensburg, that something like this might happen. He explained to “nullsechs.tv” with regard to Kok and Mrowca: “Next Sunday, the guys who haven’t had many chances so far will have a chance to prove themselves.” Then SSV Ulm 1846 Fußball will be the guests. The surprise promoted team is in third place after 13 match days with a strong 23 points.

Alexander Hahn could play a role again as an alternative for Kok. The central defender was one of the heroes of the promotion last year with 32 Regionalliga appearances and was also initially set for eight games this season. In the last five league games, however, Hildmann always opted for the trio Kok, Simon Scherder and Niko Koulis.

On the double six next to Luca Bazzoli, the decision should fall either on Bouchama, who already took on the role in Regensburg, or Rico Preißinger – after eight starts, he has only started six times and is now on the bench.
