Thilo Kehrer is among the corsets at West Ham but still has his sights set on the Königsblauen.

Former Schalke defender Thilo Kehrer, who has since signed for West Ham United in the English Premier League, has spoken out about the Königsblauen in an interview with pay channel Sky.

Asked if he wishes his former club, where he made the jump to the professional ranks, to stay in the league, the defender says: “Definitely.” Kehrer is still fired up for blue and white. “It is still the case that the contact is definitely there and that it is simply also a club of my heart. Of course I watch the games and follow the results, follow how the club is doing. I still have some contacts that are still there at the club,” said the DFB international.

Kehrer moved from Schalke to Paris St. Germain

Kehrer moved to the Knappenschmiede ten years ago from the youth section of VfB Stuttgart, passing through Schalke’s U17s and the U19s coached by cult coach Norbert Elgert. In February 2016, the defender made his Bundesliga debut as a substitute in a 3-0 win over Wolfsburg. On 1 April 2017, Kehrer entered the Schalk derby history book. In the summer of 2018, Kehrer moved to Paris St. Germain for 37 million euros. The 26-year-old has been under contract with West Ham United since August.
