New board confirmed – focus on professionalization and problem solving

KFC Uerdingen has made important personnel decisions to begin the urgently needed realignment of the club.

The KFC Uerdingen administrative board has officially confirmed Peter Kahstein and Dirk Röthig as the new board members. With this step, the regional league club wants to set the course for a successful future for the club.

Thomas Platzer, KFC club chairman, explains in a press release: “With the confirmation of Peter Kahstein and Dirk Röthig by the administrative board, we have laid an important foundation for the stabilization of our club. We are determined to overcome the existing challenges and strengthen KFC Uerdingen in the long term.”

Röthig, a fully qualified lawyer, will focus on the club’s current problems and contribute his legal expertise and economic skills to deal with the numerous outstanding issues in the legal and financial areas.

Kahstein will focus in particular on youth development, marketing, and communication in order to align the club’s work more closely with the needs of our young members and to ensure clear and transparent communication with the outside world. Youth work and cooperation with Bayer 05 Uerdingen are particularly important to the new KFC board.

“For family reasons, Adalet Güner will unfortunately not be able to support the club as a board member, but he will remain with the club as a supporter – as far as his time allows,” the press release states.

The new KFC board has set itself the goal of professionalizing the club’s management and addressing and remedying the shortcomings in the areas of communication, finance, and human resources as quickly as possible. “We are aware that the road ahead will be a difficult one. Nevertheless, we are confident that we will successfully master this path together with our fans, the city, the administrative board, and the club’s sponsors,” emphasized Platzer.

Platzer asks everyone involved for patience: “We know that we will encounter challenges that cannot be solved overnight. But we are confident and are working hard to find solutions that are acceptable to all. I would like to ask everyone to be patient with us. In the coming days and weeks, we will be contacting all those responsible and affected so that we can work together to set the course for a successful future.”

The new KFC board is united in saying: “The changes and new appointments mark the beginning of a new phase for KFC Uerdingen 05. The entire board and its advisors are ready to get the club back on track with a clear vision and a determined team spirit. KFC is convinced that the cooperation of all those involved—members, fans, the city, and sponsors—will lay the foundation for a successful future.”
