Regensburg mourns Diawusie

Third division soccer club Jahn Regensburg mourns the loss of its player Agyemang Diawusie.

The club announced on Tuesday that the 25-year-old had passed away. “The club is shocked and deeply saddened by this tragic event,” Regensburg said in a statement. No details were initially given about the circumstances surrounding his death, other than that the “terrible news” had been received on Tuesday.

“The Jahn family mourns with the bereaved and is in thoughts with Agyemang’s family, relatives, close friends, and companions,” the club said in a statement: ”Due to the terrible situation and out of respect for his family, we ask that their privacy be respected.”

Diawusie had been playing for SSV Jahn since July and last played on November 4 in a match against 1860 Munich. He had also previously played for German youth national teams.
