Five sending-offs in Sportfreunde duel, Bövinghausen top of the table

TuS Bövinghausen finishes the 9th matchday in the Oberliga Westfalen at the top of the table. Meanwhile, Rhynern has to accept a setback.

The 9th matchday of the Oberliga Westfalen had one thing in particular to offer: Goals. 29 goals were scored in the eight matches. At the top of the table, TuS Bövinghausen and Preußen Münster II won, Sportfreunde Siegen remain at the bottom and lost three players with red cards.

TuS Bövinghausen, who had been promoted, won 3:1 (2:0) against Delbrücker SC. Philipp Rösler (7th), Elmin Heric (43rd) and Luka Bosnjak (46th) put the Dortmund side on the winning track early on, Lennard Rolf (51st) could only cosmetically improve the result.

Preußen Münster II, the team chasing the title, also won. In the home match against 1. FC Gievenbeck, Pascal Koopmann, Luca Steinfeldt and Ali Cirak secured a 3-0 victory for the Prussians, who are third in the table, three points behind Bövinghausen.

Rhynern lose, Siegerland sees red

Meanwhile, Westfalia Rhynern suffered a setback in the race for top spot. In the end, Westfalia could count themselves lucky with a 2-2 draw at second-bottom SV Schermbeck. Schermbeck had led 2-0 through Yannick Babo (2nd) and Tolga Özdemir (66th). But Christopher Stöhr (85th) and a goal in injury time by Akhim Seber saved Rhynern the point. The lead in the table nevertheless went to Bövinghausen, who now have a two-point advantage.

At the other end of the table, the points were also shared after a flood of cards, between Sportfreunde Siegen and Sportfreunde Lotte (2:2) five players were sent off. Due to sending-offs, the Siegen side lost Tobias Filipzik, Andreas Busik and Moritz Brato. Arda Nebi had given the Siegen side the lead, Leon Schmidt (20th) equalised shortly afterwards. Angelos Kerasidis scored the 2:1 for Lotte from the penalty spot. Lotte also received two red cards, Fatlum Elezi and Julian Frommann had to take early showers.
