Several regulars are returning to Borussia Dortmund for the home game against Freiburg. Karim Adeyemi and Niklas Süle, however, are still out.
The personnel situation at Borussia Dortmund has eased further ahead of their home game against SC Freiburg. In Saturday’s match (3:30 p.m./Sky), BVB will once again be able to count on regular goalkeeper Gregor Kobel and center back Waldemar Anton, among others, according to coach Nuri Sahin. Offensive players Giovanni Reyna and Julien Duranville, who were also recently injured, are fit again.
However, BVB will still have to do without Karim Adeyemi, Niklas Süle, and Kjell Wätjen against Freiburg. All three are back in training, but Sahin said they are not yet ready for the weekend. Captain Emre Can is also suspended after receiving a red card in the 1-3 defeat in Mainz.
“I hope that we can rotate and make more changes in the next few games so that we don’t run out of steam,” said Sahin, who has had to cope with a number of injuries recently. The 36-year-old is expecting a “very, very difficult task” against Freiburg, who are currently one point ahead of BVB in the table.
