Bad news from Mohr – Younes and Bulut miss training

Tobias Mohr will also miss FC Schalke 04’s upcoming home game due to his thigh injury. Taylan Bulut is absent from training.

FC Schalke 04 will have to do without Tobias Mohr for even longer. After the 29-year-old winger already missed the away game at Hamburger SV (2-2), he will definitely be absent from Gelsenkirchen on Friday (6:30 p.m./Sky) in the home game against 1. FC Kaiserslautern. Mohr is being hampered by a thigh injury he sustained during a training session last week.

Nevertheless, Schalke are hopeful that the left-footed player will be able to return to action before the end of the year. It will be tight for the second division away game at SC Paderborn (December 6), but he could be fit for the last two games of the first half of the season against Düsseldorf (December 14) and in Elversberg (December 20).

With three goals and four assists this season, Mohr is one of Schalke’s top scorers. At the same time, he is the positive surprise in the S04 squad. The former Heidenheim player was actually on the sidelines in the summer and was supposed to leave the club. However, because no offers came in from other clubs and Mohr had a good preseason, he was suddenly in the starting lineup at the beginning of the season – and he impressed. He has started 11 times in the current second division season.

In Saturday’s 2-2 draw in Hamburg, Mohr was replaced on the left wing by Amin Younes (31). The former international scored his first goal of the season to make it 1-2. At the beginning of the week, however, Younes had to take a step back. Instead of training with the team, the attacking player trained individually on Monday – as did right-back Taylan Bulut (18). However, both are expected to be available for the game against Kaiserslautern.

Meanwhile, striker Emil Höjlund (19) and Christopher Antwi-Adjei (30) made progress in training. Both were able to take part in most of the session.
