From the 2nd to the 3rd league – former Wuppertal striker arrives

Third division club TSV 1860 Munich presented its third new player of the day on Wednesday, January 31.

On Wednesday morning, January 31, TSV 1860 Munich announced two new signings: Abdenego Nankishi (Werder Bremen, on loan) and Max Reinthaler (SV Wehen Wiesbaden). Forecasting reported.

But that wasn’t all in terms of new signings. A few hours later, the Sixties presented Semih-Serhat Güler as their third new professional of the day.

The striker has made just ten brief appearances this season – a total of only 69 minutes – for FC Hansa Rostock. Güler was no longer happy on the Baltic Sea coast and was looking for a club where he would be given more opportunities. 1860 will offer him such a stage.

“Due to the injury to Joël Zwarts, whose recovery process cannot be precisely predicted, we saw the greatest need for action in the center of the attack. We deliberately sought a good solution rather than a quick one, and we are convinced that we have found it in Semih. He is a fast, two-footed center forward who can play not only at number 9 but also on the wings. He therefore gives us more versatility in attack. Many thanks to those responsible at the club on the Baltic Sea coast for their professional and appreciative cooperation, which has resulted in a good solution for all involved,” said Dr. Christian Werner, sporting director at TSV 1860 Munich.

TSV 1860 Munich is one of the most illustrious names in the 3rd division. I am looking forward to getting to know my new teammates, the city, the club, and the fans. I have not had any sporting contact with TSV 1860 Munich so far, but I have heard a lot of good things and can hardly wait to run out in front of a sold-out Grünwalder Stadium.

Semih-Serhat Güler

Of course, people in Munich are also aware of the goal-scoring qualities of the Cologne-born player. In the 2022/2023 season, Güler scored an impressive 23 goals in 29 games for Wuppertaler and set up nine more.

He was the top scorer in the Regionalliga West and had several offers from the 3rd and 2nd Bundesliga. He turned down moves to Preußen Münster and SC Verl, ultimately deciding to sign for FC Hansa Rostock. Probably a mistake. Now he’s making a fresh start in Munich.

After 22 games, the Lions have 25 points and are just two points above the relegation zone. This weekend, on Saturday (February 3, 2 p.m.), TSV will travel to FC Erzgebirge Aue. Perhaps then, not only Abdenego Nankishi and Max Reinthaler will be in the starting lineup, but also Semih-Serhat Güler.

He is definitely fired up – Güler: “TSV 1860 Munich is one of the most illustrious names in the 3rd division. I’m looking forward to getting to know my new teammates, the city, the club, and the fans. I haven’t had any contact with TSV 1860 Munich in terms of sports yet, but I’ve heard a lot of good things and can’t wait to run into the sold-out Grünwalder Stadium.”
