MSV Duisburg had a lot planned for the away game at SV Elversberg last Saturday. But the Zebras, who had virtually no chance, lost 0:3. And while Elversberg took the lead in the standings, the Meiderich side had to admit to themselves that their opponents were currently a collar width too big. “When Elversberg have a really good day, which they had in the offensive, in the duels and in the attitude to the game, then we currently have no chance against them,” was the sobering conclusion of MSV coach Torsten Ziegner.

Duisburg fell behind after just twelve minutes through Valdrin Mustafa. In the final phase, Koffi (82nd) and Israel Suero (90.+2) increased the lead.
