Derby weekend at VfL Bochum. The schedule means that VfL fans can watch two local derbies at the stadium on Saturday.

Derby weekend for VfL Bochum. On Saturday at 8:30 p.m. (RS live ticker), VfL Bochum will play an away game against FC Schalke 04 in the 2nd division.

It was already announced last week that 30 Bochum fans would be traveling to S04 by bicycle. The details of the organized trip for Bochum fans to Gelsenkirchen have now been finalized.

A total of around 6,000 fans will accompany VfL to its second away game of the season. Shuttle buses will run from the Vonovia Ruhrstadion for all fans who do not want to take line 302 or use their own transport to travel to the tram derby in the neighboring district.

“After our U21 home game against Borussia Dortmund’s U23 team, special buses will run directly from the Vonovia Ruhrstadion to the VELTINS Arena. Departure is at 5 p.m. behind the south stand on Castroper Straße,” the club announced on its social media channels. “The buses will depart in three groups as soon as they are full. The destination is the guest parking lot in Gelsenkirchen.”

Those who can’t get enough of their club are in for a special treat. They can see two derbies in one day. At 2 p.m., VfL’s U21 team will play against Borussia Dortmund’s U23 team in the Regionalliga West. The departure time has been set so that fans can attend both games. It’s not that far to Gelsenkirchen. “Until departure, you are welcome to grab a bite to eat at the Stadion-Eck or the Ritterburg,” the club recommends. “The special buses will depart from the guest parking lot shortly after the end of the game.” And if you want to see another one of these local derbies, you’ll have another chance on Sunday: VfL’s U19 team will be playing at Borussia Dortmund at 11 a.m. at Sportpark Hohenbuschei.
