SpVgg Erkenschwick loses lead – SV Lippstadt loses at home

SpVgg Erkenschwick once again squandered a lead on matchday 10 of the Oberliga Westfalen, while SV Lippstadt lost.

SV Lippstadt suffered a setback in the Oberliga Westfalen promotion race on Friday evening. At home against Arminia Bielefeld’s second team, they suffered a 1-2 (1-2) defeat. In an intense first half at the Liebelt Arena, there was an exciting final phase. Monti Theiß put the visitors ahead after 39 minutes. Just two minutes later, Cinar Sansar made it 1-1. In stoppage time, Vincent Ocansey finally secured a deserved lead for Bielefeld. The home side came out with a lot of momentum after the break and pushed harder and harder for the equalizer. Iker Kohl (68th minute), Nico Tübing (72nd minute), and Max Kamann (73rd minute) all had excellent opportunities to score.

However, the final offensive, in which Lippstadt loudly demanded two penalties (90th and 90+9), was unsuccessful. The score remained 1-2, giving SG Wattenscheid 09 the chance to take the lead in the table on Sunday.

Oberliga: SpVgg Erkenschwick squanders another lead and goes down to defeat

SpVgg Erkenschwick has given away a halftime lead for the third time in a row. Against Eintracht Rheine, a 1-0 lead turned into a 2-5 defeat.

Erkenschwick got off to a good start: Dzenan Pilica broke through on the right and crossed the ball to Barbaros Inan, who was unmarked at the far post and headed home to make it 1-0 (10′). Rheine initially reacted nervously, but found their way back into the game after half an hour, with ESV focusing on counterattacks.

After the break, the visitors worked hard to equalize and were rewarded when Bennet van den Berg scored with a long-range shot to make it 1-1 – his seventh goal of the season (53′). Just two minutes later, Luca Meyer completely turned the game around with his header to make it 2-1 (55′). Tugay Gündogan even increased the lead to 3-1 shortly afterwards (68′).

However, Erkenschwick did not give up. Out of nowhere, Dylan Pires scored the equalizer (75′). Shortly before the end, the ball ended up in the visitors’ goal once again, but Elmar Skrijelj was offside (85′). Almost immediately afterwards, Luca De Angelis sealed the deal for Rheine with his goal to make it 4-2 (88′). Josha Häusler even added another in stoppage time to make it 5-2.
