39 goals—there was no shortage of scoring in the Oberliga Niederrhein. Ratingen remains at the top, but its pursuers also won. Kleve is stuck at the bottom of the table.
Tenth match day in the Oberliga Niederrhein. And on Saturday, there was plenty of action. Two games – 14 goals were scored here. On the one hand, leaders Germania Ratingen made a statement and won 6-1 at SV Biemenhorst.
In addition, KFC Uerdingen defeated 1. FC Monheim 5-2 after their cup match during the week (1-3 against MSV Duisburg) and climbed to second place, at least before Sunday’s games.
On Sunday, however, KFC had to relinquish that position. It was taken by VfB Homberg, who had already sealed the deal against Holzheimer SG by half-time. Felix Hohmann, Emir Demiri, and Marcio Jordan Blank scored for VfB in the first half. The 3-0 lead was never in danger after the break, not even after Jan Schumacher pulled one back. Shortly before the end, Johann Noubissi Noukumo scored to make it 4-1. Homberg is now in second place. SpVg Schonnebeck is in third place with the same number of points after winning its away game at SF Baumberg. Essen took the lead in the first minute with a goal from Lennon Jung. But Baumberg quickly got back into the game. Timo Hölscher scored the 1-1 equalizer after only eight minutes. Before the break, Niko Bosnjak scored the last goal of the game. Nothing happened after the break, and Schonnebeck survived the final offensive unscathed. Surprisingly, VfL Jüchen-Garzweiler is also in the top 5 after sending 1. FC Kleve home with a 4-0 win. Kleve is now last, with only one win in ten games. BW Dingden also won 4-0 at SV Sonsbeck and sent a signal in the relegation battle. ETB SW Essen also sent a signal after the change of coach. Under interim coach Björn Matzel, there was a late 2-0 win in the derby against Adler Union Frintrop. Maurice Rene Haar converted a penalty shortly before the end, then Sanjin Vrebac sealed the deal with a counterattack. In the last game of the day, FC Büderich beat VfB Hilden 4-2, giving Büderich some breathing room at the bottom of the table.
