SV Burgaltendorf is currently the team to beat in the Lower Rhine District League 6. For the bottom team, the only question is when they will concede their 100th goal.
Rot-Weiss Essen II recently faced all the top teams in the Lower Rhine District League 6. The results are sobering. Five games, one win, two draws, two losses. On Sunday, they suffered a 1-2 home defeat against SpVgg Sterkrade 06/07. Aaron Langen put Oberhausen in the lead. After the break, former professional Marcel Platzek equalized for Rot-Weiss Essen.
With 15 minutes to go, Essen’s Jan-Luca Geurtz was sent off with a red card after fouling at the halfway line. It was a harsh decision, which was followed shortly afterwards by the 1-2 while Essen were down to ten men.
Maximilian Felix Zachariasz scored from eleven meters to make it 2-1. The score remained the same. As a result, Spvgg Sterkrade 06/07 climbed to second place, as Vogelheimer SV lost their game at Tusem Essen 0-1. With 31 points, Sterkrade is now three points behind SV Burgaltendorf, who decided their top match at VfB Frohnhausen in the fifth minute of stoppage time.
Laurin Kamperhoff put the leaders ahead. Mohamed Said equalized after the break. Kamperhoff then scored again, but Frohnhausen managed to equalize the 2-1 score through Komlan Agbegniadan. And then, deep into stoppage time, it was Kamperhoff again who crowned his performance with a third goal.
Burgaltendorf is now unbeaten in ten games (nine wins, one draw). Another team still in contention is Arminia Klosterhardt. The Oberhausen side won 1-0 at Fatihspor Essen.
Meanwhile, RWE II has to set its sights lower. After losing 2-1, coach Stefan Lorenz’s team is now only sixth in the table, already ten points behind the leaders from Burgaltendorf.
Sixth place is where BG Überruhr would like to be. But the bottom team continues to be cannon fodder. At the weekend, they suffered a humiliating 1-9 defeat against SuS Haarzopf. 13 games, 13 defeats, 86 goals conceded. The only question now is when Überruhr will break the 100-goal mark.
