Hordel furious in top match against Wanne-Eickel – Herne again without a win

Every week there seems to be a new leader in the Westfalenliga 2. This week, DJK TuS Hordel is in the lead.

Most eyes were on the clash between DJK TuS Hordel and DSC Wanne-Eickel on matchday 14 of the Westfalenliga 2. It was not only a local derby, but also a clash between second and first place – and the pursuers from Bochum came out on top in the end.

Hordel won 5-0 against DSC. Justin Sarpong (31′), Robin Schultze (37′), David Schürmann (50′), Ledion Shefketi (84′) and Niklas Böhm (90′) scored the goals for the hosts, who are now back at the top of the table. Wanne-Eickel drop to third place, but are only two points behind the leaders. Holzwickeder SC has moved up to second place. HSC won 3-1 against SC Obersprockhövel and is only behind Hordel due to its inferior goal difference. TuS Erndtebrück, another team from the top five in the league, also secured a victory. They beat Oberliga relegation team Concordia Wiemelhausen 2-1 after trailing 0-1 shortly after the break. SpVgg Horsthausen completed the top five, but had to share the points with Vestia Disteln. For a long time, it looked as if Horsthausen would take all three points after Güngör Kaya’s 3-2 goal. However, Disteln struck back in the 90th minute through Louis Pogrzeba to equalize. BSV Schüren and Westfalia Herne also played out a 3-3 draw. There, too, the decision to share the points came late in the game. Herne initially turned a deficit into a 3-1 lead before Schüren pulled one back in the final quarter of an hour and then equalized. Westfalia has now gone five games without a win. Meanwhile, three teams at the bottom of the table picked up three points. SSV Buer won 4-1 at FC Iserlohn, while Wacker Obercastrop beat RSV Meinerzhagen 2-1. However, SpVg Hagen recorded the most important victory. They won 4-1 in the basement battle against FC Brünninghausen, who now remain at the bottom of the table.
