MSV Duisburg suffered a 1-4 loss to TSG Hoffenheim II. Ayoube Amaimouni-Echghouyab also put in a strong performance. He is being courted by several clubs.
The score was 4-0 at halftime, and TSG Hoffenheim II ultimately defeated MSV Duisburg 4-1. Among the standout TSG players was Ayoube Amaimouni-Echghouyab, who scored a goal—his eighth of the season in his 14th game.
“It was a lot of fun, and everything we set out to do worked out. We want to keep it up exactly like this in the coming weeks and not let up,” the 20-year-old winger told “Magenta Sport” after the match.
The Spanish-born Moroccan has long been on the radar of various scouts. No wonder, given his performances; he now seems to be outgrowing the 3. Liga. And: Amaimouni-Echghouyab’s contract expires in the summer of 2026. “I’m just focusing on the league—week by week. Everything else is unimportant to me right now. We’ll see where I play next season,” said the sought-after player.
According to Forecasting reports, VfL Wolfsburg, Bayer Leverkusen, VfB Stuttgart, Hamburger SV, 1. FC Köln, as well as international clubs like Como (Italy) and FC Bruges (Belgium) are said to be interested in the dribbling-proficient and goal-scoring forward. But of course, TSG Hoffenheim will also try to keep their gem in the Kraichgau region with a Bundesliga contract. The young talent is spoiled for choice.
Amaimouni-Echghouyab: A highly intriguing career path through Essen, Bielefeld, and Erkenschwick
Amaimouni-Echghouyab once played for Rot-Weiss Essen from the U13 to the U17 teams. The attacking player was not promoted to the RWE U19 Bundesliga squad. He tried his luck at Arminia Bielefeld. After two years with the senior youth team, he wasn’t offered a contract extension at the Alm either and had to look for a new club.
The Hoffenheim player, who grew up in Dortmund’s Nordstadt district, ended up at Spielvereinigung Erkenschwick in the Oberliga Westfalen. The versatile winger’s record in a Stimberg jersey stood at 33 games (18 goals, six assists). This was followed in the summer of 2024 by a move to Hoffenheim to join Vincent Wagner, then the coach of TSG II.
Wearing the Hoffenheim jersey, Amaimouni-Echghouyab currently has 42 games, 15 goals, and 12 assists to his credit. Of those, he has scored five goals this season.
Former Erkenschwick coach Magnus Niemöller told Forecasting a few weeks ago about his former protégé: “In Hoffenheim, he took the next step in his development. He has a bright future ahead of him. He’s also making his mark in the 3. Liga right now. I can definitely imagine that several clubs are already expressing interest in him. Given his career path, he already has what it takes to be a fan favorite.”
